What is Cloud computing?

Cloud computing means storing and accessing data and programs over the Internet instead of your computer's hard drive. The cloud is just a metaphor for the Internet.

A Cloud computing means the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer.

The term is generally used to describe data centers available to many users over the Internet. High clouds, predominant today, often have functions distributed over multiple locations from central servers.

It is the group of networked elements providing services need not be individually addressed or managed by users. A Cloud computing relies on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and economies of scale.
