What is Cloud computing?

Cloud computing is the term that referring the delivery of hosted services over the internet. Here we can store and accessing programs and data over the internet.
 
Cloud computing is a type of Internet-based computing that provides shared computer processing resources and data to computers and other devices on demand.

Open-source software has provided the foundation for many cloud computing implementations, prominent examples being the Hadoop framework and VMware's Cloud Foundry. In November 2007, the Free Software Foundation released the Affero General Public License, a version of GPLv3 intended to close a perceived legal loophole associated with free software designed to run over a network.
 
Cloud computing is a general period for the delivery of organised services over the internet.

Cloud processing enables companies to consume some sort of compute resource, such as a electronic machine (VMs), storage or maybe an application, as a utility -- just like electricity -- rather then having to build and maintain calculating infrastructures in house.
 
It’s a type of computing which involves sharing of computer resources rather than using local servers or dedicated devices for processing. In simple words, it is the process of storing frequently used data on multiple servers which could be accessed by using the Internet. Various services like servers, storage and applications are provided to the user’s computing devices via Internet. Some good examples of using Cloud are:

Dropbox – An online storage providing 2 GB of free storage to the users.

Google – Letting the users to create documents and calendars for free.

In today's world, cloud computing is the best platform to use. Cloud computing means we can use various resources over the internet like storage, databases etc. We can demand any type of computer resources online. Only thing is that users have to pay for the things which they use. Cloud computing is divided into three main categories: SaaS(Software as a Service), PaaS(Platform as a Service), IaaS(Infrasturcure as a Service).
