What is Bounce Rate?

Bounce Rate is a percentage of visitors to a particular website who navigate away from the site after viewing only one page. Bounce rate should be low. It means your page effectively causes.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors who come to your website and leave without seeing any other pages on your website.

Normally bounce rate tells the percentage of visitors viewing the site without staying on it for long time. The immediate leaving a web page of any website by the visitors is responsible for the increase in the percentage of bounce rate and its very harmful for it. So, always try to make a website which can attract the visitors and can compel them to stay on it for long time.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors to a given website that leave the site after viewing only a single page. The bounce rate for a single page is calculated by dividing the number of visitors who entered that page and then bounced by the total number of visitors to that page. The bounce rate of an entire site is calculated by dividing the number of visitors who bounced after viewing a single page by the total number of visitors who entered the website. Ideal bounce rate should be 40%.

Bounce rate is nothing but the percentage who visits on your website & then leave it without visiting on another page. It should be near about 40% if it exceeds then its not a good thing. I have install Gostats & it gives me accurate detail regarding bounce rate.

Bounce rate (sometimes confused with exit rate) is an Internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave ("bounce") rather than continuing on to view other pages within the same site.

Bounce rate is a measure of the effectiveness of a website in encouraging visitors to continue with their visit. It is expressed as a percentage and represents the proportion of visits that end on the first page of the website that the visitor sees.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors to a given website that leave the site after viewing only a single page. A high bounce rate can be interpreted to mean either that the content is not relevant to its target market or that the site is not attracting its target market effectively. Bounce rate can be measured in one of two ways: Either determining the number of visitors who enter the website but “bounce” or move before exploring anything other than the entry page or determining which visitors leave the site after only a brief time period.

Bounce Rate is the percentage of single-page sessions (i.e. sessions in which the person left your site from the entrance page without interacting with the page).

There are a number of factors that contribute to a high bounce rate. For example, users might leave your site from the entrance page if there are site design or usability issues. Alternatively, users might also leave the site after viewing a single page if they've found the information they need on that one page, and had no need or interest in going to other pages.

Hello,

Bounce Rate is the percentage of single-page sessions (i.e. sessions in which the person left your site from the entrance page without interacting with the page).
Bounce rate is one of those quality metrics that gets tossed around a lot in the search engine space.
The bounce rate of a site is an analytic factor used to determine what actions people are taking after reading your post.

The bounce rate is purely calculated from the number of entrances to the site for each page, rather than people visiting that page having already seen a page of your site within the same visit. If a visitor has already seen another page of your site before exiting this is counted towards the exit rate rather than the bounce rate.

So if 100 people enter this website on this page and 40 click through to another page, the bounce rate is 60% as 60 out of the 100 exited straight after entering.
