what is anchor text...?

Anchor text is a kind of text in which you can provide hyperlink i.e. you can give link on your keyword which is treated genuine by Google and it doesn't treat as spamming. An anchor text helps to link to some other site which is called as an inbound link of that site.

Anchor text, or the text used when linking to other sites, is very important in search engine optimization. Search engines use anchor text to try to determine what a site is about, so it's important to have relevant words, especially your target keywords and/or key phrase, as the anchor text of all incoming links to your site.

Anchor text is the visible characters and words that hyperlinks display when linking to another document or location on the web. In the phrase "CNN is a good source of news, but I actually prefer the BBC's take on events," two unique pieces of anchor text exist for two different links: "CNN" is the anchor text pointing to http://www.cnn.com/CNN - Breaking News, Latest News and Videos, while “the BBC's take on events” points to =http://news.bbc.co.uk Home - BBC News.

Anchor text is the clickable text in a hyperlink. SEO best practices dictate that anchor text be relevant to the page you're linking to, rather than generic text.
