A user is unable to register their TM (Telekom Malaysia) prepaid/postpaid SIM card. This could prevent the user from activating their mobile line, making calls, sending messages, or using mobile data. The error could occur due to:

  • Incorrect personal information provided during registration.
  • Expired or invalid identification (e.g., MyKad/Passport).
  • System errors at TM registration link online.
  • SIM card already registered under another ID.

Symptoms:

  • Error messages during SIM registration.
  • SIM card shows “Not Registered” or “No Service.”
  • Unable to make calls, send SMS, or use data.

Solution: Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Verify Your Documents:
    • Ensure your MyKad (for Malaysians) or Passport (for foreigners) is valid and matches the details you enter.
  2. Check SIM Status:
    • Dial *100# or insert SIM into a phone and check if it prompts for registration.
    • Ensure the SIM is not already registered under another ID.
  3. Register via TM Official Channels:
    • Online Registration: Visit TM’s official portal or TMpoint website and follow the online registration steps.
    • Physical Registration: Go to the nearest TMpoint or TM store with your ID to complete registration.
  4. Correct Data Entry:
    • Make sure your name, ID number, and date of birth are correctly entered.
    • Double-check the phone number you are registering.
  5. System Error Troubleshooting:
    • Restart your phone after entering registration info.
    • Try registering via a different device if using online registration.
    • Wait a few hours and retry in case of server-side issues.
  6. Contact TM Support:
    • Call TM Customer Service at 100 (from TM number) or +60 3 2241 8000 (from other phones).
    • Provide your SIM card number (ICCID) and ID for assistance.
