Where to find Ford Powerstroke delete kits?

Last month, I was helping my uncle with his old 6.4 Powerstroke that kept throwing codes after some emission issues. He mentioned something about a “delete kit,” but I’ve never bought one before. We looked online, but there’s so much conflicting info, I’m not sure what’s actually worth the money. Where do you even find a reliable kit for a Ford Powerstroke without getting scammed or buying something low quality? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When I had my 2012 Ford Powerstroke, I ran into a similar issue. After dealing with constant DPF problems, I decided to go for a full delete setup. I ordered everything through tunerdepot — they have a great selection of diesel tuners for different Powerstroke model years. What I liked was that they clearly list compatibility, so I didn’t have to guess or risk buying the wrong parts. The install took a weekend, some basic tools, and a buddy who knows trucks. After it was done, fuel mileage improved, throttle response got sharper, and the check engine light stopped coming on. Just make sure to check your local regulations first — some states have strict rules about this.

I don’t have much experience with delete kits, but I’ve worked on a few Powerstrokes over the years for friends. One thing I’ve noticed is that people often overlook simple maintenance before going for big mods. Sometimes cleaning the EGR system, replacing sensors, or checking for boost leaks can solve issues that seem like they require a full delete. Also, I’ve seen a couple of trucks run poorly after a bad tune was loaded, so choosing a trusted tuner is just as important as picking good hardware. Even with upgrades, if the basics aren’t in order, you might just be masking problems instead of fixing them.
