What is URL Redirect?

A URL redirect is a webserver function that sends a user from one URL to another. Redirects commonly take the form of an automated redirect that uses one of a series of status codes defined within the HTTP protocol.

URL Redirect (sometimes known as URL Forwarding) is a technique which can be used to redirect a domain to another URL which is either too long or too hard to remember for a web user. When you set up the URL Redirect option for a domain at Namecheap, it redirects anyone who visits your website to the proper location of your web server in order to access the website files.
