Woo commerce on WordPress is more for a medium to small entrepreneur website.

If you really want write your own script in laravel though i think that would be a long project that requires quite a bit of knowledge.

Php is established , doesn't make it the best , depends on the situation. For a web based site yes php , but if you are moving into applications python is better.

If I must point out the best one I'll go for Magento because there are a lot of normal and enterprise scale retailers working with it, it's also very flexible and easy in use. Also good to know is that Magento is owned by eBay.
