Social media sites are ones in which users can create public profile and build relationships with other users, they can also be called community-based websites, discussion forums, chat rooms, and other social pages online.
 
Social media is becoming an integral part of life online as social websites and applications proliferate. Most traditional online media include social components, such as comment fields for users. In business, social media is used to market products, promote brands, connect to current customers and foster new business.
 
Social Media is the future of communication, a countless array of internet based tools and platforms that increase and enhance the sharing of information. This new form of media makes the transfer of text, photos, audio, video, and information in general increasingly fluid among internet users. Social Media has relevance not only for regular internet users, but business as well.
 
Social media provides online communications channels in channels we do interaction, content-sharing, and collaboration. Web sites and applications dedicated to forums, microblogging, social bookmarking, social curation, social networking , and wikis are among the different types of social media.
