What is Nofollow Link?

Nofollow links attributes do not allow search engine bots to follow link. Moreover google has announced that nofollow links would also be considered but with less impact.
Nofollow link position also matters.top of the page or bottom.
 
Nofollow is html tag that website owners, add to links in their website for the search engines not to crawl, notice, or acknowledge a link. While a nofollow link is ignored, but popular social networking site like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Myspace sites are nofollow, but they do provide a lot of other benefits.
 
no follow doesn't count as back link to the site from search engine but it can be helpful as an traffic generate source if it's come from high pr sites.The idea behind a nofollow link is that a search engine will not click through a link flagged as such. A nofollow link can be good or bad depending on the context of how it is utilized.
