What is Impression in Adwords?

Adwords is a good tool to build your keyword popularity in search engines. It offers paid campaigns to promote your keywords and generate good traffic from search engines. It also helps to build your keyword ranking in search engines.

when a user views your advert on web page is called as impression.

Google AdWords is Google’s advertising product, which displays your ads to people looking for your products or services on Google or its partner sites.

The impression in Adword, is counted each time your ad is shown on a search result page.

•Counted as one impression when each time your ad appears on Google.
•In some cases, only a section of your ad may be shown. For example, in Google Maps,
we may show only your business location and name or business or first line of your ad
text.
•Person begins to type and then clicks anywhere on the page like a search result, ad, or
related search.
•However, when someone searches using Google Instant, an impression can be counted
when one of these occur:

An impression (in the context of online advertising) is when an ad is fetched from its source, and is countable. Whether the ad is clicked is not taken into account. Each time an ad is fetched, it is counted as one impression.

Because of the possibility of click fraud, robotic activity is usually filtered and excluded, and a more technical definition is given for accounting purposes by the IAB, a standards and watchdog industry group: "Impression" is a measurement of responses from a Web server to a page request from the user browser, which is filtered from robotic activity and error codes, and is recorded at a point as close as possible to opportunity to see the page by the user.
