What is HTML5?

Hi,
HTML5 is a markup language used for structuring and presenting content on the World Wide Web. It is the fifth and current version of the HTML standard. HTML5 includes detailed processing models to encourage more interoperable implementations;it extends, improves and rationalizes the markup available for documents, and introduces markup and application programming interfaces (APIs) for complex web applications.

HTML5 is derived from Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) having best features. One of the major changes in HTML5 is in respect to how HTML addresses Web applications. And other it’s new features include specific functions for embedding graphics, video, audio, and interactive documents. New elements also allow you to define sections of your Web page using new tags such as < article > which defines an article, < nav > which defines navigation links, < source > which defines media resources, and many others.

HTML5 is the most recent form of Hypertext Markup Language, the code that depicts website pages. It's really three sorts of code: HTML, which gives the structure; Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), which deal with presentation; and JavaScript, which gets things going.

HTML5 is supposed to be what HTML should have been in the first place
The first web browser, Mosaic, was introduced in 1993. A year later Netscape, based on Mosaic, was introduced and the net began to become popular. HTML was used in both browsers, but there was no "standard" HTML until the introduction of HTML 2.0.
HTML 2.0 was first published in 1995.* HTML 3.0 was published two years later and 4.01 two years after that. HTML 4.01 has been the work horse of the net ever since
The first "working draft" of HTML5 came out in January of 2008 and it already has surprisingly broad browser support.

It's going to take years to fully implement HTML5, though it will be in wide use long before then – assuming that, like eColi, they don't divide and multiply again.

HTML5 is a markup language used for structuring and presenting content on the World Wide Web. It is the fifth and current version of the HTML standard.

It was published in October 2014 by the World Wide Web Consortiumto improve the language with support for the latest multimedia, while keeping it easily readable by humans—and consistently understood by computers and devices such as web browsers, parsers, etc. HTML5 is intended to subsume not only HTML 4, but also XHTML 1 and DOM Level 2 HTML.

HTML5 is the latest standard for browsers to display and interact with web pages. Approved in 2014, it's the first update to HTML in 14 years. The purpose of HTML5 is primary to make it easier for web developers and browser creators to follow consensus-based standards that make compliance more efficient and empowering. It's also designed to provide better, faster, more consistent user experiences for desktop and mobile visitors.
