Its privacy settings.
Sometimes it's even public. :/

I like what I use, and I disslike the rest.
What I like is, well, friend request, you should not be able to message or view pictures of someone whos not your friend. Notes who may serve as a blog, sharing ability and online games with friends. The rest is useless.
