What are the right ways to use LinkedIn?

I have been using Facebook for a while now, and though I have created an account on LinkedIn for my business, I do not have much idea on how to use it. Can anyone give me a basic guidance? I am a website consultant and developer (if that can help) and would like to cater to the market of the UK and US.

Well, I've had some experince with LinkedIn, but i'm sure others could provide more insight but here goes:

1. When you start of with your account, one of the most important things you can do is to fill your profile page up with detailed information about your personal info, your job title, and past experinces in that field. Also, a good profile picture for LinkedIn can make/break the difference of someone looking you up.

2. Connect with other LinkedIn users and get to know some and make "friendships" and you'll have yourself a "network."

3. Once you have a "network," you can try to get some recommendations from those in your network when you're trying to find a job.

4. Never give up and always stay on top of your LinkedIn profile. Edit and change it up once and awhile and keep searching and searching and sea...

LinkedIn can help you with offline networking too simply checking out someone's profile after meeting them at a networking event, even if you don't connect which can help you remember their name and what they do.

Linkedin is very helpful to me. I get alot of resource materials and updte information on my profession. Through my interaction and comments, I'm getting noticed.
You must sign up to the group that best fits your profession.:)

Interesting. I will try to search for groups out there on LinkedIn and try to join them. I hope this would help me reach out some people to start with.

More recently, the idea of finding work through social networks seemed something unrealistic and useless. 64% of job seekers find a job through recommendations. Use LinkedIn to increase your chances of getting a job with the help of your friends. Another effective job search method is website https://jobpro.ae . Job search by this method becomes truly effective
