What Are the Best Methods and Costs for Concrete Lifting?

Hello everyone.

I’m trying to understand more about concrete lifting and would appreciate insights from anyone with experience. My driveway and part of my backyard walkway have started to sink unevenly, creating tripping hazards and poor drainage after rainfall.

I’ve read that methods like mudjacking and polyurethane foam injection are commonly used, but I’m not sure which one is more durable, cost-effective, or suitable for residential use. How do these methods compare in terms of long-term performance and maintenance?

Also, what should I expect in terms of pricing, time required, and disruption during the repair process? Any advice or personal experiences would be really helpful.

Polyurethane foam injection is the better option for residential use hands down. It is lightweight, cures fast, and you can use the surface the same day. Mudjacking is cheaper upfront but the heavier slurry can cause sinking again over time especially if the soil underneath is still unstable. If you want to dig deeper into how these methods compare I actually found our website helpful for breaking down the cost and process differences before getting quotes. Foam lasts longer and the small injection holes are barely noticeable afterward. Pricing varies by region so get two or three quotes but expect polyurethane to cost more upfront while saving you money long term. Disruption is minimal with both methods, most residential jobs are done in half a day with no jackhammers or lengthy curing time like full replacement. Just make sure any drainage issues are sorted first or the problem will return regardless of which method you go with.
