CBD cartridges! We love them because cannabidiol or CBD is wonderful for a quick mood fix or break anytime of day or night, and, if you vape, you get those effects almost immediately along with amazing flavor.
CBD cartridges are pre-filled, disposable, and they contain some version of CBD juice or oil that is designed for vaping. These carts hook right up to the 510 battery or a compatible device and are ready to go, so they’re perfect for beginners.
Anyway, yes, obviously VV is the home of both cannabis/CBD fans and vapers, so you can expect that we really love vaping CBD.
There are so many CBD vape cartridges out there, finding the best one isn’t that clearcut. Some of what’s out there, frankly, isn’t very good at all. We have our favorites and our reasons for liking them, and we present them here. But first, here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about CBD vape cartridges.
[Note/disclaimer: CBD cartridges simply click into place on a vaping device, ready for use; most are 510-thread. This means these basic CBD oil cartridges are compatible with most standard vape pens on the market. Starter kits with certain devices and cartridges are also available. If you’re looking for another option or want the kind of cartridges you refill with vape juice and use with a vaporizer device, here’s our post on the best Vape Juice.
[Also, although the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) technically regulates CBD and CBD products, which are legal thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, it’s still kind of the Wild West out there with these products, so read labels and be careful. Never vape anything that is not specifically designed for vaping! And always check with your healthcare provider before trying new products, especially if you have a serious medical condition.]

What Are CBD Vape Cartridges?
And are they different from other kinds of cartridges? Well, yes, in that they are specifically designed for vaping CBD safely.
You may have seen a similar type of disposable vape cartridge if you use cannabis. Those 510-compatible vapes you get at the dispensary that are THC distillate, live resin oil, or something similar are the same type of cartridges.
The difference is what’s inside. A CBD vape juice cartridge is a small cylinder, pod, or tank filled with CBD oil or e-liquid. The cartridge itself clicks, pops, or screws into a vape pen to make contact with the battery for heating.
CBD e-liquids and CBD vape oils (two different terms for essentially the same thing) are made from hemp-derived CBD and some combination of standard e-liquid base ingredients. These usually include medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oils, vegetable glycerin (VG), and propylene glycol (PG). It’s important to read the labels and product descriptions because different brands use different blends of these ingredients.
Why Do We Love CBD Cartridges?
Faster-acting. We love our CBD gummies, but with the CBD vapes you can take a hit, just like with traditional cannabis or even cigarettes, and feel something almost immediately. We also love the ritual of vaping while getting all of the benefits of CBD!
Effective. The body absorbs vaped CBD via the respiratory system, making it more bioavailable and, therefore, more effective than ingested forms of CBD.
Easy. Vaping is such an easy way to consume CBD. Just inhale and relax.
Convenient. CBD oil cartridges are disposable but more sustainable than the kind with the pen you toss out because (mostly) you reuse your device. It’s a convenience compromise. (And there are even disposable vape pens, too, for when you need the whole thing ready to go out of the box.)
Delicious and fun. CBD vape cartridges come in so many flavors and strengths—it’s easy to get the perfect kind for you.
Vaping vs Smoking
Vaping is a safer alternative than smoking, although it is not harmless. It’s safer because vaporizing anything from plant matter to oils requires lower temperatures. Smoking actually heats the matter in question enough to burn, creating smoke that can contain carcinogens. The respiratory system is also sensitive to the high temperature.
You can feel the difference when you’re vaping, especially if you are vigilant about your temperature settings and you use high-quality CBD products. The vapor should be much cooler and gentler on your airways.
In some cases, terpenes and cannabinoids are also more well-preserved since they do not reach their boiling point. You may smell them more rather than a burning smoke smell, although a vapor smell is typically very light.
What are the benefits of vaping CBD versus smoking it?
Vaping devices allow much more control over airflow, aroma, density, flavor, and other factors, depending on the device. Even a basic battery will keep your CBD oil and flavoring from burning.
Vaping is also more discreet thanks to less smell and no smoke.
What Are the Different Types of CBD Vape Cartridges?
Just like with any type of CBD products such as tinctures or gummies, you will find different varieties of CBD cartridges. Full-spectrum CBD cartridges, broad-spectrum CBD cartridges, and CBD isolate cartridges are all possibilities.
Full-spectrum CBD products contain all of the naturally occurring terpenes and cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. As a result, full-spectrum CBD cartridges may contain THC, although by law they must contain less than 0.3% THC. Thanks to the greatest amount of plant compounds being present in these products, full-spectrum CBD offerings typically have the most notable hemp flavor.
Broad-spectrum CBD products retain the full range of cannabinoids—except for the THC, which is removed completely. The rest of the plant’s beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes remain in these products.
CBD isolate products have removed all cannabinoids and terpenes except for CBD. These typically have the highest concentration of CBD yet also have the mildest flavor.
Although determining which is best is really down to personal preference because the body can utilize numerous cannabinoids, many CBD users believe full-spectrum CBD to be the most effective.
