Submit all at once

There are various companies offering to submit your website to multiple search enginges all at the same time. I am a bit wary of this and not sure if it is indeed possible. Has anyone tried this and does it work?
 
I have only tried this a couple of times, and that was back in the early 2000s so I'm not too sure if the rules have been changed, but when I did it I used a site called Submit Express and it worked for me, but as I said that was 13 years ago. :)
 
I've actually used Submit express myself and it worked. Although, few of the sites that my url was added to required some sort of registration on my part. I had to ignore those ones, since my website was submitted on a lot of sites already.

However, I didn't really see any significant change concerning the submission.

No, thinking back, I didn't notice a massive change either, but I was still excited at finding something free to submit to my site to search engines. :D
