Starting small but expecting growth - VPS now or later?

Hi all,
I’m at an early stage of a project, but there’s a decent chance it could grow quickly depending on user adoption. I’m debating whether it’s smarter to start with a VPS right away or move later when needed.

The main factor for me is scalability. If I go with VPS now, I want to be sure I can increase resources without major disruptions. Some people say it’s very straightforward these days.

For example, a friend pointed out that providers like Hostpro.com allow you to scale by adjusting settings and rebooting the server’s virtual shell, which supposedly applies the new configuration almost instantly. That sounds ideal, but I’m wondering how consistent that experience is.

Would you recommend starting with VPS for future-proofing, or is it better to scale up gradually from shared hosting?

When evaluating hosting services as a whole, it’s not just the resources that matter, but the entire infrastructure. Hostpro.com offers shared and VPS hosting; servers are located in the Netherlands, Poland, and the U.S. Daily backups are retained for 30 days and allow you to restore either your entire account or individual files and databases, plus 24/7 support that genuinely helps with technical issues.
