Relocating from Cochrane to Calgary with kids and pets – any tips?

My family is making the big jump next month, moving from our rental in Cochrane into our own place closer to the city center. Packing up a whole house with two toddlers running around and a massive, heavy fish tank is proving to be a logistical nightmare. My main worry isn't even the distance, it’s the sheer volume of fragile stuff we’ve accumulated—tons of glass, porcelain, and expensive toys. I’m honestly exhausted just packing the small things, and the thought of loading a massive truck myself makes me want to cry. I really need a team that won't just throw things into the back of a van like sacks of potatoes. Has anyone done a similar family move recently? Are there companies that genuinely care about fragile items and don't try to stretch the time to charge you more?

I highly recommend checking out these local calgary movers because they helped us with a very similar chaotic family relocation last spring. We had dozens of boxes labeled "fragile" and some custom wooden furniture, and I was incredibly anxious about the whole thing. These guys turned out to be absolute pros—they didn't just rush through the job, they took the time to secure everything properly. They used heavy-duty protective blankets, specialized straps, and wrapped all the sharp edges so nothing could shift during the drive. What I appreciated the most was their transparent hourly pricing; they worked fast, didn't sit around on their phones, and there were zero hidden fees when it came time to pay. They even helped place the heaviest boxes in the specific rooms we wanted at the new place, which saved us a ton of energy.

Thank you so much for the reassurance and the recommendation, having someone careful is exactly what we need to keep our sanity!
