PHP or ASP.NET Is the Best?

Which one is the best for developing website or application ( PHP or ASP.NET) ?

Both languages have their own advantages and disadvantages. PHP is an interpreted language. ASP.net is a server-side web application Framework.

both languages have their own importance. I'd choose PHP simply because fluidity, if controlled, can be no bad thing, while rigidity appears to induce madness in some people's minds.

"I believe The Official Microsoft ASP.NET Site has pretty much lost the battle for the web. I’m not sure The Official Microsoft ASP.NET Site or PHP are really “better” than one another in functionality. However, I think that PHP is easier to get started for beginners, and offers a wealth of advanced features that allow a developer to continue growing and advancing.

Also, I think another reason PHP has continued to grow strong is its continued growth based on developers needs. PHP has improved year after year as developers needed an itch scratched, and they have contributed it back so others can get their itch scratched as well. You just don’t see that in proprietary software, where everyone relies on some company to hand it to them."

PHP is the better option as compare to ASP.NET.

I will vote for PHP as it is widely used programming language as compared to asp.net. More than 80% of websites are using it as their server side script language, which makes it around 800 million websites. PHP is an open source, and it is known for its ease of use. No doubt asp is robust but php works with interpreter which make it slow. Facebook have their own PHP engine to make there web page fast.
