Just bought a pre owned Mercedes, how do I find out what service it needs next?

I finally got my hands on a used E Class and I love it, but the service history is a bit patchy. I have no idea when the last major service was done or what should come next. I was reading an article online about Mercedes service times that explained the difference between Service A and Service B and when a major service is typically due, like every 60,000 kilometers. It really highlighted how important it is to follow a proper luxury vehicle maintenance schedule to keep everything running smoothly and avoid costly repairs later. Since I don't have the full history, what's the safest approach? Should I just take it to a specialist and ask for a full inspection to basically reset the clock, or is there a way to figure out what's been done from the car's computer or the VIN number?
