Is PHP Faster Than ASP . net

I have observed that the websites that are made using PHP are usually faster than the websites programmed in . net . Have any body else have similar experience and what do you think may be the reason for this fast response time by PHP pages.

i never experienced such this rather many php sites i know work very slow.

I think php fast then .net. But I have create the project in the PHP language. PHP is server side programming language. PHP is high level programming language.

It is better to create the simple project in both the the language and then judge which is slower and faster, but same project..

it all depends on knowledge of both languages. very large websites use both php and asp. i personally prefer php

Asp.net executes a lot faster when it comes to release mode.But then again you need a better configuration with good RAM in order to increase its speed of execution whereas php does executes faster and freshly too..

On many counts, yes, PHP is faster than ASP.NET. There are many technical issues for this. The biggest reason is that ASP.NET runs on ISS Servers which consume more RAM and More of Processor Threads. That makes them slow specially if the servers are not of a good configuration.

Yes php is faster than asp.net becasue php uses inbuilt memory space where are asp.net uses server space during execution.

both programming languages are used in very large web applications and large successful web sites so there should not be any doubt to the ability of any of the above programming languages to handle a large web application project.
