Now we have seen latest update of HTTP/SSL from Google. Google give more priority to Secure site and help them for ranking purpose.

So I want to ask you one question that is any body change site from HTTP to HTTPS? Is it really helpful?

HTTP and HTTPS refers to the port the server is listening on - it's two different ports. If you shut off port 443, then you won't have secure pages.
Same with port 80 - shut it off and you won't be serving webpages. As the previous poster said, Apache uses "virtual hosts" in the httpd.conf file so the server knows what to look for. A site will have directives for both http and https.

Google has announced about it so it will give to more priority to secure sites. However it is on initial stage and most of the webmasters are awaiting for its effect on their ranking. Google uses number of ranking factors to rank a website. Some put small effect while some big. So, we should wait some more days.

Yes, changing a website from HTTP to HTTPS is not only helpful, but it is also becoming increasingly important for websites to make this transition.

HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure) is a secure version of HTTP, where data is encrypted between the website and the user's browser, making it more secure against potential hacking and data theft. HTTPS also helps to establish trust with website visitors and search engines, as it signals that your website is taking necessary security measures to protect user data and privacy.

From an SEO perspective, switching to HTTPS can have a positive impact on your search engine rankings. Google has publicly stated that HTTPS is a ranking factor, and that secure websites may be given a slight ranking boost in search results. Furthermore, users are more likely to trust and engage with a website that uses HTTPS, which can lead to increased traffic, engagement, and conversions.

Making the transition from HTTP to HTTPS is not a simple process, but it is well worth the effort. You will need to obtain an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate and configure your website to use HTTPS. Additionally, you will need to update any links and redirects to ensure they point to the new HTTPS version of your website.

In summary, switching from HTTP to HTTPS is highly recommended for websites to improve security, user trust, and SEO performance. While the process can be challenging, the benefits of using HTTPS make it well worth the effort.

Moving from HTTP to HTTPS involves securing your website with an SSL/TLS certificate, ensuring data encryption, and updating internal and external links to the new secure URLs, contributing to improved security and better search engine rankings.

Yes, some websites have migrated from HTTP to HTTPS to improve their search engine rankings and provide enhanced security for their users. Google's emphasis on HTTPS as a ranking signal encourages more websites to adopt this secure protocol, benefiting both users and website owners. By implementing HTTPS, websites can also avoid browser warnings and improve user trust and confidence.
