How Safe Are Electric Vehicles When It Comes to Technology?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been diving into the world of electric vehicles lately, and a question that keeps popping up is about EV safety in terms of technology. With so many advancements like ADAS, regenerative braking, smart BMS, V2L, and OTA updates, it’s clear that EVs are packed with cutting-edge features—but how safe are they really?

I recently came across a website called all about EVs that compares electric vehicles in India, lists public charging stations, and highlights features like battery health, range, and performance. It gave me a good starting point, but I’d love to hear from real users and enthusiasts.

Some questions I’ve been thinking about:

  • How reliable is EV tech in Indian conditions—especially during long drives, extreme heat, or monsoons?
  • Are software-based systems (like ADAS or OTA updates) trustworthy for long-term use?
  • How do electric cars fare in accidents compared to ICE vehicles?
  • What are the best tech-safe EVs available in India right now?
I’m planning to buy an EV soon and am open to suggestions. I’ve shortlisted a few like the Tata Nexon EV LR, MG ZS EV, and the Kia EV6, but I’m curious to know which EVs you all think strike the right balance between safety, tech, and value.

Would love to hear your thoughts, experiences, or any issues you’ve faced with EV technology.
