How do you fix the clip-ons for hair extensions that are not working anymore?

If clip-ons for hair extensions stop working, it’s usually because the clips are bent, loose, or the silicone grip has worn out. Start by checking the clip teeth and gently reshaping them with your fingers or small pliers so they close tightly again. If the clip feels loose, tighten the stitching by sewing the clip back onto the weft using a needle and strong thread, making sure you go through the small holes on the clip and secure it firmly.

Sometimes the silicone strip inside the clip wears off, causing slipping; in this case, you can add grip by sewing a small piece of wig comb fabric, felt, or even a thin strip of elastic behind the clip to help it hold better. If the clip spring no longer snaps shut, the best fix is to remove the old clip and replace it with a new snap clip by carefully cutting the thread, positioning the new clip in the same spot, and sewing it tightly along the edges.

Also clean the clips, since product buildup like oil or hairspray can make them slippery; wash gently with mild soap, dry completely, and test again. With tightening, adding grip, or replacing worn clips, most clip-in hair extensions can be restored and reused instead of thrown away.
