How do i personalize my Laptop?

I have windows 7 and i want to personalize it. I wish to add another background, arrange my icons and change other settings on my laptop. How do i go the settings?
 
Here, this may help.

-Go the to the desktop.

-Right clik anywhere (not on an icon, but just an empty space)

-Click on "Personalize" located at the very bottom of the scroll box that appears. A seperate screen should pop up.

-From there, click on "Desktop Backgrounds" located in the bottom left corner. Above it should be an icon of your current desktop. Click this and change the desktop to whatever you would like! :)
