I'd suggest you to make a choice based on what you really want.
Blogger is free but WordPress.org requires a host that you'll pay for. I don't recommend wordpress.com because they don't allow adsense.
PS: wordpress.com is different than wordpress.org.
If you have money to invest in hosting, WordPress is the best choice. You fully own and control your website, you can extend it with plugins like you want.
If you don't have money to invest, you can start with blogger. You'll get approved faster for adsense and you can move your website to WordPress when you make significant money to pay your own host. Sometimes, blogger shut down website without warning.

BlogSpot and Wordpress both are provides free blogging platform. I started blogging with blogger and then i moved to wordpress. So, i am aware of benfits of downsite of blogspot. Am not talking about beneftis, as wordpress offers all those features which blogspot offers.
