Estimation Tool Advice

Hi everyone. I’ve been struggling with project estimates lately. I work with small to mid-size projects, and numbers often change halfway through. How do you usually handle this? Do you rely on spreadsheets, software, or just experience? Any tips to avoid mistakes?

I get what you mean. Estimation is tricky for many people, especially when requirements keep changing. Some prefer simple tools, others go with more advanced systems. It really depends on workflow and team size. I think sharing real examples helps more than theory.

I had the same issue not long ago, and what helped me was switching from manual calculations to a structured estimation system. When everything is in one place, it’s easier to adjust numbers without starting from zero each time. The FirstBit system overview explains this approach well, especially for businesses that need flexible and clear estimates. Instead of guessing, you work with predefined logic and real data, which reduces stress and errors. It doesn’t magically fix everything, but it gives a solid base so decisions feel more confident. Over time, you also notice patterns and understand your projects better, which makes future estimates much more accurate.
