Cross linking is also interlinking among web pages within the same website hosting. Excessive cross linking may be penalized by the search engines in the form of website hosting drop down in search results and your website hosting may even disappear from search engine results.

if you have all pages with unique content then it is fine. but if you have duplicate content in your website then it is bad for website.If the sites are related and benefit the user you have nothing to worry about. If the intent of this is a freebie link, then you're in trouble at a very early age.
