I’ve been planning a proper astronomy trip next year and recently started reading about the Perseids meteor shower 2026.
Apparently the viewing conditions could be much better compared to some previous years, so I’m finally thinking of traveling somewhere with actual dark skies instead of trying to watch from my city rooftop.
While researching, I found people recommending Ladakh, Spiti, and Uttarakhand. Kausani especially caught my attention because of the cleaner skies and lower light pollution.
I also came across this Kausani observatory setup which honestly looks more beginner-friendly since they do guided telescope sessions and astronomy experiences instead of just normal camping.
Has anyone here watched a meteor shower from Uttarakhand before?
Would love suggestions for:
