I have mentioned this a few times, but I believe it is good advice so it bears repeating.

My favourite methods are:

- Blog commenting
- Guest posting
- Forum posting
- Article submission directories
- web directories
- Social media sites

Not only do these helps me a lot with building backlinks, but they also help bring in traffic as well.

I would just be careful with the blog commenting. You dont' want to make the comment spammy or Google may see this and recognise that link to your site as spammy. As long as your blog comment is decent then the links should be fine. Also note that 90% of blog comment links are no-follow.

All of the above is great advice. But I would like to also add if your site is a blogging site try Blog Hops. I love Blog Hops and have a few I attend each week online. It really helps in bringing in more traffic, repeat visitors, and back-links!
