Android vs iOS ? Which do you prefer ?

I prefer Android over the Apple cellphones. In fact, I will be receiving my first Android cellphone withing the next two days from eBay! Although not the latest Android (due to the very high cost), I am very happy that I will have an Android phone soon. I have a Sony Ericsson Satio, as well as another Nokia phone, but I always wanted to have one Android! It is a great phone, affordable, as good as any other phone, gives me plenty application choices, and of course allows me to do and receive phone calls! Also, I can easily replace it if it breaks or is lost, not like an iPhone which I think is quite expensive even to do a small repair job on it.

I prefer iOS. I think because Android isn't standardized because it is used in different types of gadgets with different grades, it becomes a bit harder to predict on the quality you are going to be able to take from it. As opposed to iOS which is made out to be standard all across the board, you can be sure of what you are buying and you know what to expect.

Surely this is not the case anymore, with the retina display and iPad mini? The old iOS isnt' fragmented argument no longer applies.

OT: I far prefer Android devices, they're just more open. I like a phone that has widgets, a removable battery*, SD card*, USB port and isn't locked down every which way.

I never understood the 'iOS is simple to use' argument either. If you can't understand an Android device you need special help!

I also prefer a larger screen, and I really like the stylus on my Note II. I use it far more than I thought I would. (Though of course this is just my opinion).

All that said, the iPhone series is well made. It's just that these days it's looking more and more outdated, and it's always looked overpriced.

*I know that not all Android phones have removable batteries of SD cards. I wouldn't buy them either, just because of this. HTC are you listening? Apparently not.

Well the good thing about that is for the people who can't afford an iPhone they can get a cheaper model Android device that is still a great phone. I was in love with my iPhone for the longest time but once I finally made the switch to the S3 (soon to be an S4) I was so much happier. The first thing I liked better was of course the customization. Yea I had my iPhone jailbroken but after about 4-6 months my phone started to screw up so I eventually just restored it back to normal. Everyone I know that has jailbroke their iPhone has had the same problem. Yea the App Store has more apps but that isn't really a huge deal to me because I haven't had any issue finding an app I need in the Play Store. Another thing with the iPhone that was annoying was that I had to close out of every app individually and sometimes I would have a bunch running. With just one tap of my finger on my S3 all my tasks are killed. Apple hasn't even released a phone since the 4 in my opinion that has really been innovative. Well there is Siri but I mean how often do people really use that? I know none of my friends or myself ever used it unless we were trying to find the closest hookers :p lol

iOS is the first and the most efficient in my oppinion. I have an iPhone and I can say that it works like a dream. Anyway you can do a lot more things with android, but I still prefer Apple.

I use ios but I'm thinking for android, I think android is better Many Voices, ios does not leave a lot of things change, the android is much better.

I prefer Android over iOS, but I don't really think one is better than the other. It's just a matter of preference. Android appeals to me more because of the customization possibilities. You can simply replace the homescreen launcher or sms application if you don't like the standard.

Both have their own great qualities and flaws. I really like iOS for their great simple UI design, it's nice, but it is not as develop-able as the Android. Because Android has more flexibility and more freedom, I'd go with the Android.

xHysteria.

I prefer Android over iOS. Unlike iOS, Android is free from restrictions. Android is also more user friendly than iOS. I agree one thing that iOS is more secure than Android. But still I go for Android because of its freedom to use.

Of course that each operating system has its disadvantages but we can't deny what's really happening. Android has a great slice of the markets share and in my opinion it will continue like that for some years.

In my opinion Android is better than iPhone. Smartphones are cheaper, do the same as iPhone's and are way more customizable. Plus, there are a lot of Android smartphones to choose from, we just need to know which one suits our needs.

iOS and Android both have their positives.
iOS manages battery well and apps crash very rarely,
while Android phones are preferred because they are cheap, open market leading to more contribution, and it's aesthetics(Google being behind them) seem to be improving day by day.

I never used an Android, but I would simply choose it because it is better than the iOS. I have used an iPhone, iPod Touch 3G, 4G, and I barely see any differences other than the fact that there are more features on the iPhone. Each update they put out is close to nothing, and the only one I liked so far is the recent update to iOS 7. Even the products, they upgrade it to 4S, but I don't see any differences compared to the 3S other than making it bigger. I've heard way more positive reviews about the Android than the iOS.

I'm curious how iOS7 will turn out, I've had my hands on both iOS and Android and I much prefer iOS.. Android seems to lag more but maybe it was because of the phone not the OS

I got the Galaxy 4S two days ago, and really enjoying the phone so far. It has far more features than the iPhone as, smartview, air view, air gesture, multi window, and so much more. The battery life runs out fairly quickly though, but I'm sure I have some unnecessary applications open in the background. I tried to tone it down as much as possible. Anyways, if anyone is considering the Galaxy 4S vs iPhone, the 4S easily gets my vote.
