2017 Audi A6 transmission failed at 120k km – dealer or independent specialist?

I'm honestly devastated. My A6 has been flawless for three years and then out of nowhere the transmission started slipping between 4th and 5th gear. No warning lights, no strange noises, just a loss of power for a second then a harsh engagement. I took it to the Audi dealer in Dubai and they said the transmission needs to be replaced, quoted me 28,000 dirhams. The car is worth maybe 55k at this point. There's no way I'm spending that. So now I'm trying to figure out my options. I've heard there are independent shops in Sharjah that specialize in German transmissions and can do a proper rebuild for a fraction of the cost. I've been looking for a sharjah trusted gearbox repair center that has experience with the ZF 8 speed in Audis. A friend recommended one place but when I called they were pretty vague about their warranty and process. Has anyone here actually had a ZF 8 speed rebuilt in Sharjah and had a good experience? How long did it take? What did it cost? And most importantly, did the repair last? I don't want to spend 10k on a rebuild that fails again in a year. I'd rather spend 15k on a used low mileage transmission from a breaker if that's more reliable. I'm just lost and stressed. Any real advice from someone who's been through this with an Audi or BMW would be a lifesaver. Thanks in advance.
