I haven't used the platform Joomla and I would like to test it. Before that, I want to know what makes you to stick with Joomla and what are its unique features.

Yes I like Joomla .

Features of Joomla:

Managing built-in site search engine.
Managing header, footer or side Banners (advertisement etc.).
Manages 3rd party components and modules.
Creating Polls.
Creating your own dynamically created content menus
Uploading MS Word, MS Excel and Acrobat PDF documents for online viewing
Managing multimedia Flash, jpg, gif, bmp and .png images.
Managing build-in content syndication (RSS).
Managing News feeds, from different news source web sites.

Great features! I didn't know much about Joomla. I have heard that it has a steep learning curve so I have stayed away. It sounds like it's worth taking a look at. Is there a Joomla for Dummies book? lol

Edit: I just checked Amazon. There is a Joomla for Dummies. I put it on my wishlist.

aratiseo, what made you choose Joomla over WordPress, because like Dean and Hardison, I've only heard about the difficulties of running that software. Now, the people that love it, do love it, but most suggest just going with WordPress, even Joomla users.

For the most part I would recommend using either Custom PHP or WordPress (or anything else) for that matters, over Joomla. Although Joomla allows deep customization, it's certainly not that much friendly for SEO, adding more it's also not that easy to use as with WordPress.

WordPress, on the other hand, allows tons of useful plugins for free, all of which will reduce the work of your developer and improve your website's performance.
