Windows Process Priority

I was just told a friend that i can set priority to the process windows is running. It always happens to me that the browser i am running gets slower when windows seems to run antivirus or other background things. I want to keep my browsers at top Priority so if any of you guys out on the forum would like to share with me how to set the Priority of Windows process so that i can prioritize some over other processes.

What ever process priority will be set will be just till the windows will be rebooted. I do not know how to do it so that the windows can be set permanently. Also there is a setting which is called real time. If you set process priority to real time the Windows will not put the process into the queue and will process it in realtime.

Does it really work for the first? I tried to set game priority on "High" but I didn't feel any difference.
