Why people prefer Facebook rather than Instagram?

I think as a media platform instagram is much faster , pictures and videos and its simpler to tell your story on Instagram in videos and images.

However for brands and businesses Facebook is the better choice as it may be a bit more cumbersome but a brand can tell a better story , share links and websites post videos. The flexibility of Facebook makes it a more powerful tool if used properly. Many consumers however like really fast info and this is how Instagram does well.

If you want something more intense and complex for your brand , there is linkedin. IF you are in a business that has alot of visuals pintrest is a very fast way of gaining exposure.

Lastly YOutube is alo a social media platform , probably the most valuable of all in googles eyes.
 
If you're talking about marketing then yes Facebook is much better than Instagram, Instagram marketing ways are none adds depended on which means on Instagram you have to be a very popular figure with thousands of followers to get the marketing ideas through stories or just normal promo posts. While on Facebook, you can pay for your ads which will reach many people as you demand and it'll get you somewhere!
 
Facebook has the most people of ALL ages. Instagram does not. Facebook has a much larger market share. If I asked 100 friends.... Are you on Facebook? Most would say yes. If I asked that same group... Are you on Instagram? Most would say... What is Instagram?

So if I want to keep in contact with friends and family I'm going with Facebook.

Frankly since you can post out your ego with FB using a variety of methods (pictures, status updates, long videos, likes, reacts, pages, groups). In Instagram, it's all about pics and videos. Just that. FB feeds the ego more in terms of giving more options to express.
