Why Link Farming Is Bad For Seo ???/

Link farming is the process of exchanging reciprocal links with Web sites in order to increase search engine optimization. The idea behind link farming is to increase the number of sites that link to yours because search engines such as Google rank sites according to, among other things, the quality and quantity of sites that link to yours. In theory, the more sites that link to yours, the higher your ranking in the search engine results will be because the more links indicate a higher level of popularity among users of the Internet.

Link farms were originated in response to Google’s ranking algorithm, Page Rank. Page Rank thinks of links as votes, where a page linking to another page is casting a vote. Therefore, pages with the most links were deemed valuable. Link farming is considered a black hat method of search engine optimization because the content on the web sites linking to each other is often not related.

Link farming has already been considered a ‘Black Hat’ SEO method by the search engines. There are several reasons to consider the link farming activity as a bad one—including at times the contents on the websites linking to each other hardly remain relevant & usable, not being created by a human and or of worst quality. All those people who actively involves in the link farming activities most often use different programs or services to create the contents.

A link farm is a website or a group of websites, which are dedicatedly created only for the purpose of increasing the link popularity of each other websites by increasing the number of incoming links.

However, link farms are commonly viewed as a way to misguide the search engines and are therefore considered a black hat tactic.
