Why Free themes are getting hacked?

We are using free themes for websites, and they are easily getting hacked every time.
Why it is happening?
What is the best solution to protect our Websites which are designed by WordPress CMS?

It will happen due to various reasons but the main reasons are:
- The developers don't update it after it's development
- Developers wantedly sends spam to promote ads or to purchase premium theme
- Doesn't support latest WordPress Version code

Free themes are very dangerous their is no update for that themes and only limited options will be available they might include spam code and outbound links and major draw back for the free themes is their is no support. Try to use the premium theme.
