Why do People like Alcohol or Coffee ?

Why do people like Alcohol or Coffee ?
I mean like why do they get addicted to them both. I havent even once taste Alcohol. Not my type.
But why do people get more addicted to Coffee ?

Both are some sort of drugs in medical science, Only drugs can made you an addicted person.
