Why are backlinks important in SEO?

Backlinks are especially valuable for SEO because they represent a "vote of confidence" from one site for another. In essence, backlinks to your website are a signal to search engines that others vouch for your content. If many sites link to the same webpage or website, search engines can infer that content is worth linking to, and therefore also worth surfacing on a SERP. So, earning these backlinks can have a positive effect on a site's ranking position or search visibility.

the number of backlinks a site has is in a decent marker of its fame or significance with search engines. It is anything but difficult to get a higher positioning utilizing backlinks than it is to impact web crawlers with outside backlinks from different locales, which is the reason backlinks matter such a great amount in a web indexes calculation

This has no meaning if your site is not viewed by visitors. And for this, you need SEO to reach your customers. If you want to get more traffic, more sale then SEO is must.

From the perspective of SEO, there is a difference between backlinks and quality backlinks.

1. For Google search, random backlinks do not offer any help. Google assesses the quality of the backlinks present on a webpage with the relevancy found in the content of both the web pages.

2. The higher is the relevance between the original content and backlink content, the greater becomes the quality of the backlinks.

3. Quality backlinks bring more referral traffic to a website/blog, and most importantly will improve the ranking of a webpage

Backlinks are important for your site’s SEO, because simply put, they improve the overall ranking of your website.

A backlink is when a third-party website contains a link to your website, this often occurs in blog posts or articles. One of the main reasons why it is beneficial is because it drives traffic to your site, which is usually more targeted because they have come through a related site or blog and probably already have an interest in your website’s subject matter.
