The way I started out firstly focused on quality content that is unique and keyword rich in areas like the top, center and bottom of the page. If images are part of the content, I would use alt tag to describe the image, but toss in a keyword as well. When I was happy with that, I started working on backlinks.

I think back link and content both are important because content improves quality and back link make more traffic.whenever you post content to make sure that your content is unique and not copied from anywhere because it affects your site quality and back link is used for to get more and more traffic to your site so make sure your content is unique and get back link as much as you can.
