Which is better a link or Signature

We all know forum posting is a very good off page technique, but I am little confused, which is more reliable a link or signature in forum site.

For forum posting signature is more important compared to links in posts. Signatures help to generate traffic from all posts made from your profile. Though some forums offer do follow link backs but they are not very useful as Google rarely crawls and index forum threads. Therefore all links whether do follow or no follow are helpful to redirect traffic to your website from various forum posts.
