If you compare guest blogging and blog commenting than I would like to suggest you to go with Guest blogging. Because through guest blogging you actually get traffic and high PR back-link which is helps you a lot.

As i know guest posting is important technique as compare to blog commenting because it is the simple way to increase website traffic and ranking of your website.
Both are important to get high quality backlinks and good position in search engine result pages. But personally, I prefer blog commenting. You can easily make huge blog comments in similar niche and high pr blog that will help to get a good rank as well as drive huge traffic. On the other hand, Guest post is not as easy for newbie.
