I normally Niche Directory Submission, Social Bookmarking, Business listing, Classified postings & blog commenting for building backlinks for my site and Blogging & Article Submission for Content Marketing of my site product & services.
 
I generate quality backlinks by following way

1) Search and submit( relevant or most relevant category) to the website in high quality directory sites ( daily 5)
2) Find dofollow ( high quality sites) social bookmaking sites and bookmark website ( daily 5)
3) Submit Guest post
4) Submit Articles and Blog post
5) Create profile creation site and create profile and add link on it.
 
Generally all link building techniques are very useful to get backlinks.
And also to do,
article submission, bookmarking, CSS submission, PDF submission, press release, RSS feed submission and directory submission.
