What is the Advantage of Back Links in SEO?

Backlinks may give traffic to your site which causes your website to rank up. However, backlinks should be high quality get higher page rank. You can backlink your website through social networking, blog commenting, article submission, directory submission, etc. It may also contribute to your website's popularity.
 
back links is hyper links from another sites.
 
Backlinks are one of the SEO most valuable factors that has a great impact on the authority and rankings of the website. Always remember when you do backlinks make it sure that the sites you are linking is coming from good authority and high page rank. The backlinks from relevant websites are the most valuable. It is very helpful for your website to get more traffic.

I am really surprised to hear that, SEOs usually spam like hell on High PR sites just to increase their PR. But your case is quite different, although your dreams of achieving high PR is unfortunately not going to happen (at least not any sooner) your efforts might get more traffic and even get your website more exposure via Search Engines (provided your website has good quality contents that include important keywords).

Note: Please be notified that it has been almost 2 years since Google has updated PR. And there are rumors that Google might never do that, this is in order to prevent PR from becoming an encouragement factor for Spamming. Google has also notified that PR no longer plays any crucial role and that fairly new websites can rank equally well.!

Thanks for your information I think I learned something useful today. I am also an SEO person (just a trainee), eager to learn new stuffs.
 
besides increasing the page rank, backlinks also brings traffic to your site. And it shows the source of information. not only that, we can build a relationship with backlink. for example in social media, I attract a few followers every time I shared a link from my sites.
