What is keyword density and what is the formula for knowing keyword density?

Keyword density is process of calculating the number of times a keyword appears on a page.
 
Keyword density is the measure of the number of times a keyword is repeated in an article in ratio to the total number of word count of that article. It should be kept in between 2 to 3 percent to get the maximum value for your website.
