What is grey hat SEO?

Gray hat SEO is a kind of black hat SEO because it is the mixer of black and white hat SEO. This kind of SEO is mostly provided by the SEO service provider company to take client's keywords on top on given time. If only white hat SEO is applied then it will take some time but goes on top and remain on top for a long time.
 
Gray Hat SEO is an SEO practice that's riskier than White Hat SEO, but one that may or may not result in your site being banned from search engines and their affiliate sites.
 
It’s somewhere in the middle of white and black and if used by a professional, can still be effective. However, it’s safe to say that taking a grey hat approach is playing with fire if you’re not 100% sure of what you’re doing and since we’re predominantly content-led now, it’s not something I would recommend.
 
The practice of tactics/techniques which remain ill-defined by published material coming out of Google, and for which reasonable people could disagree on how the tactics support or contrast with the spirit of Google’s published guidelines.
 
Grey Hat is nothing but a mixture of White Hat and Black Hat SEO techniques only. Here, the OFF Page done by legal and illegal means both. Some tasks are genuine while some are not. The automation tool which is been used over here generates spammy links which are of no use after some point of time. Grey Hat is good to some extent and could be beneficial if it has been done for long time.

It is an interesting name, i think it is a kind between black hat and white hat. It is hard to define, so it is called grey hat, but after all, it belongs to black hat seo.
