What is Cloaking?

Cloaking is when you mask the destination of a link. So if you had an outbound affiliate link but didn't want visitors to know exactly where the link would lead, you could cloak the link and it would appear something like yoursite.com/affiliate-offer. That way it looks like an internal link

Clocking is a black hat seo technique.
It involves in search engine crawlers to increase the visitors and process of getting high rank.

Cloaking refers to the practice of presenting different content or URLs to human users and search engines. Cloaking is considered a violation of Google's Webmaster Guidelines because it provides our users with different results than they expected.

Cloaking is a search engine optimization (SEO) technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider is different from that presented to the user's browser. This is done by delivering content based on the IP addresses or the User-Agent HTTP header of the user requesting the page. When a user is identified as a search engine spider, a server-side script delivers a different version of the web page, one that contains content not present on the visible page, or that is present but not searchable. The purpose of cloaking is sometimes to deceive search engines so they display the page when it would not otherwise be displayed (black hat SEO). However, it can also be a functional (though antiquated) technique for informing search engines of content they would not otherwise be able to locate because it is embedded in non-textual containers such as video or certain Adobe Flash components. As of 2006, better methods of accessibility, including progressive enhancement, are available, so cloaking is no longer necessary for regular SEO.

Shrouding is a site design improvement (SEO) strategy in which the substance introduced to the web search tool creepy crawly is not the same as that displayed to the client's program. This is finished by conveying content in light of the IP addresses or the User-Agent HTTP header of the client asking for the page. At the point when a client is distinguished as a web index bug, a server-side script conveys an alternate rendition of the website page, one that contains content not present on the noticeable page, or that is available however not searchable.

Cloaking is a technique used to deliver the content on a Web page to a search engine in such a way that different content than what is delivered to a regular human user appears on the search engine. The goal of cloaking is to boost a website's search engine rank on certain keywords.

In cloaking, the search engine and the user are literally not on the same page. Therefore, both the user and the search engine are being deceived.
