What is a Spider?

Google spiders are responsible to read through webpage source and provide information to search engines. They are responsible to provide cache certificate to webpages successfully crawled.
 
Spiders are also known as crawlers. The crawler of Google is called GoogleBot. They are responsible for the complete process that includes crawling, indexing of websites, processing and retrieving of results in search engine result pages SERPs.

The search engine spider can work continuously or respond to user events. Typically, the search engine spider uses specific and ordered methods to scan Web text and index pages for their search engine rankings.
