Nofollow is a value that can be assigned to the rel attribute of an HTML a element to instruct some search engines that the hyperlink should not influence the ranking of the link's target in the search engine's index.
Nofollow links seo value they do not influence the websites ranking in the search engines.
No follow tells search engines not to give the link authority from the page it is listed on. It does not help the site in search engines but if your site only has do follow links search engines think that is not natural.
When to use nofollow
Most sites have both dofollow and nofollow links so if you can get a no follow link on website that is related to your sites topic you can get some traffic and it does not hurt your website seo or search engine value.
You can also use no follow links to other sites on your website if you do not want to give any value to that website from your web hosting paypal site. You should link to other sites that offer more information about your topic so cheap kvm vps would link to other site. so no follow links are good also and use dofollow link from your site to authority site similar to yours.

No-follow link is a link which does not gets indexed by search engines. Therefore it has not much importance in SEO. It only helps in generating traffic to your website.
Creating backlinks on good web platform makes your content trustworthy to the search engine, mainly we create backlinks to make contents to be indexed on search engine as Google ,but only "Dofollow" attributed web authorities allow to get indexed by google.
